475 Pirita 2004-2011

There are not too many blocks in Pirita area but still some and more nice architecture so here are some photos.

16.06.04
My oldest photo of this fabulous building (with my Olympus analogue camera). I learned later that in the mid 70's some people went to Munich to learn about preparing the Olympic city. Since I saw Olympic arena in Munich by myself and houses there, the idea of this building probably came from Munich -- see my photos in the post nr. 391.

I saw recently that this triangular corner has been separated from the open sea: there is a new barrier of stones and stuff.

14.07.10
Lasnamäe houses far away in the background.

28.01.07
The hotel building of Pirita Olympic centre. It is an interesting story how Tallinn became Olympic town in 1980.

Olympic centre again, the second big part of it, also a nice building.

21.03.08
Very beautiful building at Pirita tee.

That house was left like that for some time and eventually it was finished.

This is probably in Merivälja.

This area is similar to Nõmme: lots of houses in the pine forest. But Pirita area is probably more expensive because it's close to sea perhaps.

The beach hotel in Pirita beach is a goodlooking one. More photos in next posts.

I took this one through my soviet-time monocular. It took awful lot of trying before getting such a zoom. I was at the same place as for the previous photo.

The same beach hotel from the back side.

Another nice building at Pirita tee.

This is right next to the Olympic centre. Today used for offices and shops.

This is pretty close to the Olympic centre, on the other side of Pirita tee and behind the forest.

How beautiful was that!

And that! It says it is a place for bicycles.

Pune tee with a whole lot of new buildings.
