422 Uus-Maailm 2006-2015

Right next to Pärnu road there is an area called Uus-Maailm (New-World). Maybe it once was at the outskirts of the city, now it's just a neighbouring area to the downtown.

Tuvi (Pigeon) street nice buildings, if not in Uus-Maailm, then at least bordering it.

As seen from the (public) roof of National Library.

Suur-Ameerika street over Pärnu road.

This house, Kesk-Ameerika 5, looked so ugly that I was shocked about it. Thankfully, it was partly renovated.

Just another shot.

Luha street.

Very nice modern buildings.

Virmalise 9 before renovation. Much nicer.

Virmalise 7: one of the coolest blocks in town. Virmalised means Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights.

Financial Ministry house seen far away.

These two houses are exceptionally nice in a perfectly nice area.

Virmalise 9 renovated towerblock seen from Äripäev building. Lots of the National Library is also in the background, Tuvi park in front of it.

Last but not least: the building of Ministry of Finance. Sadly this is demolished by now and I should say this is yet another architectural crime performed in Tallinn.

At first, it was told that this tall part of the facade was going to be preserved but as the demolition went on, it was just demolished. Of course, any possible reason for extra outgoings have to be eliminated, doesn't matter the value. And this is officially so.
