I love Soviet-era commieblock areas and buildings both in former USSR and in Eastern Europe. Highway ("Magistraal" in Estonian) takes me through such areas and some nice blocks are located right next to them. 342 Svente in spring 2011
Annual algebra workshop took place in Svente in Latvia in that year and I had a good chance to take a comprehensive commieblock tour there and in nearby areas (Daugavpils, Vilnius). The workshop took place in Svente manor.
