362 Kuressaare 25.07.2014, part 1 of 2 (including Soviet time exhibition)

This was my first fuller visit to Kuressaare, the capital of Saaremaa island and county. I found lots of nice architecture, both blocks and other rectangular architecture.

Valga has a similar towerblock, perhaps even identical.

Since one of the main reasons I like Soviet time blocks is nostalgia, I was pleasantly surprised that there was a whole exhibition about everyday life of Soviet time, among the other exhibitions. It is offtopic but for nostalgia, I included photos of that. All furniture and design looks just perfect and waves of nostalgia covered rolled over my head...

Now back to architecture.

That should be GOspa.

I went to see a block area that was a bit away from thw town. It had a stange name Tuulte roos (Rose of Winds).

I like white blocks. I noticed white color for blocks also in Orissaare.

This looked pretty different. Probably built in the beginning of 1990's where everybody was tired of old styled blocks.

Open area between blocks is very enjoyable.

Not too common style.

I think this may have been influenced by the German modern architecture from that era.

Very nice areas between nice houses.
