Ape and surrounding. Ape is one of those many places that has an Estonian alternative name that Estonians probably have used in the past: Hopa.

This is in Estonian. The other side of the sign was in Latvian because Latvia is more in that direction.

To my misfortune, next 2.5 hours of biking along this road was in the middle of very strong rain and thunder :)
